Saraswati Puja - 2004

Our Saraswati Puja was held this year on January 31. An overcast day, with a fair amount of snow, did not dampen the spirits of our members who turned up in large numbers to make the day a success. Despite the inclement weather it was obvious from the festively dressed crowd that everyone was determined to have an enjoyable day. Puja and puspanjali in the morning and tasty bhog for lunch got us started for a whole day of relaxation, catching up and entertainment. After lunch we had the usual period of relaxation for the grown ups, a video game contest for the school going children and coloring for the tiny tots. After that we started in right earnest with our lively cultural program. The talent displayed by the younger members of the community was appreciated by everyone. The cultural event was rounded off with a kaleidoscope of events that included a well-done play. Soon after we had an enjoyable dinner and set off for the drive home through the snow. All in all it was a memorable day.
